Exposing CALA's Real Agenda

CALA (Citizens against lawsuit abuse) and their ilk just can't help themselves. Bar owner and CALA President Clay McPhail penned an op-ed about the need to extend their corporate immunity agenda to more wrongdoers. Texas Watch again exposed CALA and TLR's ultimate agenda by responding to this ridiculous notion.

The other side tries to complicate these issues, but they are really very simple. This is about the basic values of responsibility and accountability that good parents have been teaching their children since the dawn of man. Rather than trying to avoid accountability for their bad acts, why not just take steps to be responsible in the first place? When you harm someone - whether on purpose or on accident - why not just own up to it?

Every day we read about companies that have sold impure food, dangerous drugs, and exposed all of us and our children to danger. They take all their profits and use it to pay big bonuses to themselves and then ask us to bail them out with our tax dollars.

We've gone too far down the path of corporate immunity. It is time restore balance. Personal responsibility means being held accountable when you fail to act responsibly and it should apply to huge multinational companies as well as individuals.
