Deregulation at Work

The Chronicle reported today (Feb. 9, 2009) that the amount since we “deregulated” the electricity industry, our rates have gone up more than any other states.(see our current events section for the whole story.) What a shock. The “free” market has resulted in consumers paying more money.

We are also informed that the politician who sponsored the “deregulation” of the electricity industry now works directly for the electricity industry as a lobbyist. Again, what a shock. A legislator gets a law passed that makes money for the industry and industry rewards him with a cushy job.

Just another example of your Chamber of Commerce at work.
