Houston police are investigating a one-vehicle accident in which the driver was killed as he exited the Gulf Freeway late Thursday.

The driver of a gold Cadillac Escalade was southbound on Interstate 45 South about 11:40 p.m. when he exited at Fuqua and lost control of the sport-utility vehicle, police said.

The Escalade hit a curb, rolled over and partially ejected the driver, investigators said. He was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital.

A woman riding with him was not injured, officers said.

The man’s name was withheld pending notification of his family.
