Smoking plane engine evacuates jetliner at Hobby

Passengers were evacuated from a jetliner at Hobby Airport this morning after smoke was seen billowing from an engine, according to Houston fire officials. Firefighters said one of the engines on the American Eagle plane was reported on fire about 8:50 a.m. while the plane was parked at Gate 28. They arrived about 9 a.m. and quickly put the fire out.
No injuries were reported.
No other information was immediately available.
